Film - The Hang Man

I had an absolute blast designing the costumes for this short film, based on the true story of George Maledon — known as the Prince of Hangmen.
Designing for a real historical figure is always fascinating, as it requires balancing creativity with respect for historical accuracy.
For this project, I conducted extensive research on late 1800s garments and spent time exploring one of Los Angeles’s largest costume houses - Western Costumes, to capture the right textures, silhouettes, and details of the period.
After pulling the costumes and holding fittings with actor Joe Spano, production was unfortunately halted due to COVID.
I still hope that someday we’ll have the chance to bring this story — and these designs — back to life.
